Welcome to Collective Care Compass

Thank you for choosing Collective Care Compass ("we," "our," or "the Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our trauma-informed caregiver companion application. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content without permission

4. Health Information and Medical Disclaimer

4.1 Not a Substitute for Medical Care

IMPORTANT: Collective Care Compass is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our Service is designed to support care coordination and emotional well-being, but it cannot replace professional medical care.

Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions. In case of emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

4.2 AI-Generated Content

Our AI features (reflection chat, doctor visit summaries, health translation) use artificial intelligence to provide suggestions and insights. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content:

  • May contain errors or inaccuracies
  • Should be verified with healthcare professionals
  • Is not a substitute for professional medical advice
  • Should not be used for diagnosing or treating medical conditions

4.3 Crisis Detection

While we implement crisis keyword detection in our AI features, this is NOT a crisis intervention service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact:

  • 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
  • Emergency Services: Call 911

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is critically important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal and health information is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Key points:

  • We protect your information with strong security practices including encrypted passwords, 2FA, and consent-gated access
  • You control who has access to your information
  • You can request data export or deletion at any time
  • We maintain audit logs for security purposes, which are deleted when you delete your account
  • We never sell your data or use it for advertising

Note on regulatory frameworks: This app is a personal care coordination tool, not a covered entity under HIPAA. Our applicable frameworks include the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule and, for California residents, the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA). See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Care Team Invitations and Access Control

6.1 Inviting Care Team Members

As a caregiver or care recipient, you can invite family members and caregivers to join your care team. When you send an invitation:

  • You grant that person specific access permissions
  • You can revoke access at any time
  • You are responsible for ensuring invited members respect privacy
  • Invitation tokens expire after 7 days for security

6.2 Access Responsibilities

Care team members with access to health information agree to:

  • Use information only for coordinating care
  • Respect the privacy and dignity of the care recipient
  • Not share login credentials with others
  • Report any security concerns immediately

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the content you create (journal entries, notes, uploaded documents). By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to:

We will NEVER sell your content or use it for advertising purposes.

13.2 Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except:

  • You may bring individual claims in small claims court
  • Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property claims

13.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to bring disputes individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users in Canada, applicable provincial and federal laws shall also apply.
